We encourage everyone to contact us with suggestions and/or information you’d like to see included in the newspaper.  Please call or email us so that we can continue to meet the evolving needs or our readership.  Cathy T.:  893-5994 TropicPalm@aol.com  and Dolly:  898-3376 dollywalsh@comcast.net

We offer a heartfelt “thank you” to Len Kimball for his hard work and dedication to keeping Hadleigh Woods residents “in the loop”.  Len, you left some big pages to fill!

Message from the President

Hadleigh Woods Community,

As you might be aware, two of our board members belong to the Community Associations Institute.  CAI of NH is having a Condo Expo on Thursday, November 13th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (2 Somerset Parkway) in Nashua and is open to all homeowners.  The expo will be from 4pm to 6pm with exhibitors that specialize in condo-related services.  This will be followed by an optional buffet dinner and guest speaker lecture.

I attended this event last year and found it very informative.  I feel that the more we learn about our lifestyle as condominium owners the better our community will be.  Hopefully, we will have a number of people that will carpool together.

If you would like to attend the expo, please call Cassandra at CAI-NH 603-465-2454.  Tell her you are from Hadleigh Woods and she will wave the registration fee and give you our dinner lecture price.

Richard  HWACCA – President

Important Association News

Annual Association Meeting.  In accordance with the Association Bylaws, the Annual Meeting of the Hadleigh Woods Adult Community Condominium Association will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Windham Middle School.  Please take a moment to review the important information sent to you in mid-October.

We hope you will join us to keep up-to-date on what’s going on in our community, cast your vote for the Directors and share coffee and dessert with your neighbors.  However, if you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting, please fill out the proxy ballot included in that packet and give it to the Secretary, Gratia  prior to the meeting.

Nominating Committee.    We have three members of the Board who will be completing their two-year commitment as directors.   Those seats will be filled by a vote at the Annual Association Meeting on November 20.   Richard and Gratia have decided to run for another term.  In addition, John K. and Dick M. are throwing their hats into the ring.

 Team Maintenance

Tip of the Month

Fire trucks and rescue equipment clanged through Hadleigh Woods in late October when answering a call to investigate a suspicious odor detected at 20 Hadleigh.  Fast-acting neighbors called thinking the odor was caused by a propane gas leak.  Luckily, propane wasn’t the offender, but instead a “natural gas” created the problem.  Seems the odor was caused by the drain traps drying out (the unit has been vacant for an extended period) which allowed septic gas to permeate the premises.  Once Hartley filled the traps with water, the odor dissipated.

Harry suggests, “If there are any plumbing facilities that have not been used in the last six months such as your upstairs shower or vanity, the traps can dry out and allow sewer gas to enter your home.  Make it a point to run some water in ALL your plumbing facilities at least every six months.”

Thanksgiving - the all-American holiday!  In spite of the national economic crisis and whatever personal concerns we may have, we at Hadleigh Woods can find much to be thankful for.  What’s on your “thankful” list? Good neighbors and good friends are always at the top of our list.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
