Hadleigh Woods Gazette
Candidates for Director Positions. As you know, there are six opening on the Board for next year and everyone should be thinking about the possibility of running. Although the Nominating Committee has done a great job of lining up the minimum number (six, comprised of 4 new candidates and 2 present directors who are running again) there is always room for more candidates. If you now think you would like to run, please contact the president without delay prior to the Annual meeting. Also, any owner who wants to nominate another owner from the floor is entitled to do so. All candidates, whether from the Nominating Comm., self-nomination or from the floor will be treated the same when the voting takes place.
2006 Annual Meeting required Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the Windham Middle School located off South Lowell Street. We remind everyone that it is both your duty and your pleasure to attend and participate in the affairs of our unique condominium community here in Hadleigh Woods. As you read from our Secretary, this meeting will cover some possible changes to our Bylaws as well as an election of new directors, reports on the state of the community and a look at the upcoming budget for 2007.
Getting Ready for the Winter Heating Season. This is the time of year to consider changing the furnace filter and the humidifier evaporator pad for peak performance from your heating system. The manufacturer recommends changing both on an annual basis.
Team Maintenance has a supply on-hand for the wholesale price of $38.00 for both.
Checking Your Smoke/Fire Alarms. We are all reminded that as the clocks are turned back later in the month that we should check the working condition of the alarm batteries. Don’t be caught with drained batteries when you can play it safe!
Upstairs Bathroom Vent Control and Timer. As reported last month, we have learned that the Control Panel, Intermatic, Inc, Model SS7 has a possible defect and is being replaced by the manufacturer. Solely by Voice Mail, they will explain the problem, request you leave your name and address and model type (SS7) and a new control (SS8) will arrive in a week or so. The number to call is 815 675-2321. We urge everyone to call for the replacement and install it, as necessary.
Limited Supply of Hadleigh Woods Polo Shirts Available. Both men's and ladies' logo polo shirts are available in a variety of colors and sizes at just $16.00 each. To get yours contact Lenny K. This is a limited offer until they are gone.
From the Board of Directors:
be required by our blanket insurance carrier. Their tentative ruling is that as a condition of insurability no such grills will be operated anywhere on wooden decks or stoops. We will keep you posted of the final ruling if and when it becomes available.
2. The board reversed a prior ruling banning the painting of the propane gas pipes. The pipes from the building to the meter are the owner’s property and may be painted the same color grey as the meter. They should be cleaned (rust removed), primed and painted
with an enamel. Care should be taken so that no new paint gets on the meters. The pipe from the meter into the ground is Eastern property and should be left alone.
3. A letter is being prepared by the Board reporting the level of satisfaction with the quality of lawn care received from the contractor over this past season …sort of a report card. If you have any comments or complaints you would like to have considered, please call Lenny K. within the next week or so. Thanks in advance for your help...
