The Ice Storm Cometh!!
Give me snow any day, but please, please keep the ice! The December 11 ice storm certainly tested our mettle and happily, residents of Hadleigh Woods passed with flying colors. People banded together to make a very difficult situation easier to manage. Thanks to the Milliken’s for their generous hospitality. They opened their home to numerous people for warmth and food. Numerous other stories of neighborly behavior abound; it’s great to know we can count on each other when the going gets tough.
Now that it’s officially winter and we’re already looking at several feet of snow, let’s hope we don’t have too many more “opportunities” in our future.
Reminder that Dolly and I will have a place where we can highlight personal news you’d like to share – birthdays, special celebrations like anniversaries or new additions to the family, weddings, thank you to someone, as well as neighbor needs – a hand with something, not feeling well, etc. Please get the information to us by the 20th of each month so that it may be included in the next month’s issue.
We encourage everyone to contact us with suggestions and information you’d like to see included in the newspaper. Please call or email us. Cathy: 893-5994 TropicPalm@aol.com and Dolly: 898-3376 email@example.com
And thanks to all who have contacted us about how we’re doing so far! We truly appreciate the kind words.

Important Association News
Snow Storms – during the evening cleanup the landscaper is asking us to leave our lamppost lights on. This will help them to see better and is safer for their workers. Thank you.
Septic Tanks – unless we have continued thawing, septic pumping will resume in the spring.
Team Maintenance Tips
Tips for power outage – Don’t forget that you can use the garage door release to open the door during a power outage. (It’s the red handle hanging overhead near the garage door.) Also, gas stoves and fireplaces may be lit manually. And, to save the contents of refrigerator and freezer, consider using the attic area for food storage.
Air Conditioner Care - Cover your outside air condition compressor. The recommended way is to cover the top only, as not to have a build up of ice in the unit and not to allow small animals to nest out of the cold. You should also shut the power off out side by pushing down the lever, in case the thermostat inside is accidentally turned to the cool position resulting in possible damage to the unit. Don't forget to reverse everything before using it in the warmer weather.
Team Maintenance offers computer assistance to anyone here at Hadleigh Woods.
We can add memory, speed up a slow computer, repair a dead computer, help with word processing & spreadsheets, install an external or internal backup drive, and much more. Or, maybe you received a new computer for Christmas and would like some help setting it up and getting started. If so, contact Harry.
